General Motors Company helped create the Vortec 1.6-liter engine featuring 4 cylinders that measure 98 cubic inches running on gasoline, propane and natural gas. It has a hardened valve seat inserts to keep performance good even while using alternate fuels. The waste spark ignition system is crank-triggered and uses the coil the pack.

There is also a valve train that improves performance plus a water pump seal for increased durability. The Vortec 1.6-liter engine uses top quality sealing system to avoid leaks. Additional durability features are high-silicon-content pistons and heat shield. The Poly-V belt harmonic balancer is standard in all units.

Isuzu C-Series 2.4-Liter Engine

Isuzu is also a top producer of quality forklift engines. The C-Series features a 2.4-liter 4-cylinder engine capable of providing up to 56 hp. The engine is 4-cycle, water-cooled and OHV indirect injected. The engine rotates counter clockwise from the flywheel with a voltage regulator of 12V which is standard in all models. The engine has a dry weight of 491 lbs and measures 31.5 x 21.1 x 27.3 inches. Additional features are also available upon request.

Special Added Features

Some engines may include an electronic control module or ECM that optimizes fuel. Gasoline-powered forklift engines have spark requirements available in kit form as well. There is a gasoline fuel rail used for port fuel injection which can accurately measure fuel. Pressure and temperature sensors may also be available together with flat response knock sensor.
